SINOYQX on 31st, May, 2023, launched its YQX-585, as an alternative of CYMEL 385, a Methyl etherified melamine formaldehyde resin, into International Markets. YQX-585 resin exhibits the same performance with CYMEL 385 resin for water-soluble paints such as water-based paints and emulsion topcoats, and other applications.
YQX-585 resin by SINOYQX, is a Methyl etherified melamine formaldehyde resin. It is completely soluble in water and partially soluble in alcohols, polyols, lipids, glycol ethers and chlorinated solvents. It is compatible with short and medium oil alkyd resins, polyester resins, acrylic resins, epoxy resins and cellulose, etc.
YQX-585 resin by SINOYQX, can react with polymers containing hydroxyl, amide and carboxyl groups; the low acid value of its matching main resin is enough to catalyze the crosslinking reaction, and it can be cured quickly without strong acid catalyst; it can undergo self-condensation and increase the content of amino crosslinking agent It can increase the hardness of the paint film, and the reaction speed of YQX-585 resin is faster even at lower temperatures.
CYMEL® 385 resin is a methylated high amino melamine resin with a low degree of alkylation. Being supplied in water, it is recommended as a crosslinking agent for hydroxyl-containing emulsion polymers and other aqueous systems containing hydroxyl or amide functionality. CYMEL® 385 resin has a high tendency to self-condense and may be used to increase the hardness and resistance properties of thermoplastic waterborne polymers.

From the comparison, it appears that SINOYQX YQX-585 and CYMEL® 385 both are water soluble and share many of the same parameters.
