Transulate (it is as an alternative of 3M Thinsulate), is made of PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyester) fibers in different proportions (varies due to different applications, gram weight ranging from 10 grams to 800 grams) through high temperature and high pressure melt-blown. It has a three-dimensional network continuous porous with a 2 μm diameter of polypropylene and a 25 μm diameter of polyester. (Skeleton support structure).

Transulate provides excellent thermal insulation performance, sound absorption performance, flame retardant performance, comfort, light weight, hydrophobicity, eco-friendly, and easy-secondary processing. It is widely used in automobile manufacturing and clothing manufacturing, boots material manufacturing, filtration and other application fields.

8 Featured Properties of Transulate

  • Sound absorption performance

Transulate has a three-dimensional network continuous porous with a 2 μm diameter of polypropylene and a 25 μm diameter of polyester, which makes the sound wave can easily and effectively enter the deep layer of the fiber cavity and transform into vibration to be consumed and absorbed, and can effectively eliminate the reflected wave, especially for medium and high frequency noise, it has outstanding absorption characteristics; it is especially suitable for the improvement of automotive NVH noise reduction performance.

  • Thermal insulation performance

Transulate has a three-dimensional network continuous porous with a 2 μm diameter of polypropylene and a 25 μm diameter of polyester. The fine three-dimensional mesh structure can effectively prevent the convective heat transfer of the air. Thermal insulation effect (thermal conductivity, 0.035 W/(m*K)), and comfortable softness, especially suitable for clothing, boots materials, gloves and other thermal insulation materials.

  • Flame retardant properties

Transulate has a three-dimensional network continuous porous with a 2 μm diameter of polypropylene and a 25 μm diameter of polyester, which quickly form a dense coke layer on the surface of the burning body to effectively prevent the combustion from developing into deep layers. It will go out automatically after leaving, and it will go out without melting. It has reached the B1 level low flammability material standard stipulated by German DIN4102 and the American Insurance Association UL 94-V-0 level high flame retardant material standard.

  • Comfort

Transulate is melt-blown from flame-retardant PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyester) fibers, especially polypropylene fibers with a diameter of about 2 μm, which are extremely soft and comfortable, washable, fluffy and comfortable. Good air permeability, especially suitable for thermal insulation materials made of clothing, quilt covers, and hats.

  • Lightweight

Transulate is melt-blown from flame-retardant PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyester) fibers, especially polypropylene fibers with a diameter of about 2 μm, which can be 10g/square meter. It is as light as down but still provides excellent sound absorption, flame retardant, and thermal insulation properties, making it ideal for a variety of lightweight design requirements.

  • Hydrophobicity

Transulate is melt-blown from siliconized and hydrophobic treated fibers. The water absorption does not exceed 1% of its own weight, and it is easy to dry. The moisture regain is only 0.4%, and it is resistant to aging. Under high temperature and high humidity environment, it maintains stable physical and chemical properties.

  • Environmentally

Transulate is melt-blown from PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyester) fibers with no additives, adhesives, and carcinogens are added during the production process; the operation process is not like other products produce dusty debris with a lint-free surface; do not rot and resist corrosion from a variety of microorganisms, fungi, acids, salts and hydrocarbons.

  • Excellent secondary processing formability

Transulate is melt-blown from PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyester) fibers, which can be easily cut; compounded with various materials, and can also be ultrasonically welded, hot-melted and glued, etc. It has excellent secondary processing and forming performance.
